Rev. K.V. Abraham, Pastor Of IPA

 

Rev. K.V. Abraham came to saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ in the year1972. After witnessing the Lord in water baptism, God filled him, with the Holy Spirit.


God’s call came for the ministry in 1974. Pastor Abraham went to a Bible Seminary in the year 1976 to study the Word of God. He completed his Bachelors Degree in Theology from Bishop’s College, Calcutta, in 1982. Along with his Theological study, he has completed M.A in Philosophy, M.A in History, and M.A in Sociology from Kerala University.


He started his ministry, in Varanasi, UP India, where he used to visit the religious pilgrims of Ganges, distributing tracts and gospels.


During the summer vacation, he had been working with Operation Mobilization in North India and South India. In 1976, during the Kumpmela period, the largest Hindu Festival time, he witnessed the Lord in Allahabad, India. Thereafter he went to Sikkim, Nepal & Bhutan, Kalipong and Dargling and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ. Rev. Abraham also worked with the Bible Translators in Ootty, Tamil Nadu, Annadhapure, and Andhra Pradesh, India.
He has had oppotunities to the teach the word of God, in Word of Faith Bible Institute, Maveleakra, Kerala. and Shalom Bible School, along with other Senior Pastors. He was also teacher at the Faith Theological Seminary Manakkala, Kerala. Later on, Rev.Abraham was appointed Academic Dean of of Faith Theological Seminary.

Rev. Abraham immigrated to the United States in 1987. He was a member of India Christian Assembly, Hollis Queens. In 1988, when India Pentecostal Assembly was formed, under the leadership of the late Pastor K.V. Kurian, Rev. Abraham served as the Associate Pastor. He had been teaching the Senior English Sunday School Class. While serving as the Associate Pastor of I.P.A, he also was working as a Social Worker, in Bellevue Social Service Center, City of New York. His job was to counsel, Drug Addicts, Alcoholics, the Homeless, broken families, run–away young adults, and the Jail-released population.

On September 2002, God called, the late Pastor Rev. K.V. Kurian to his eternal home. Since January 2003, Rev. Abraham has been serving as the senior pastor of IPA, Hicksville NY. Rev. Abraham is a Bible teacher, counselor, Seminar organizer, and presently serving as the New York Pastors' Representative for PCNAK, 2004, Virginia Conference.

God has blessed his family greatly, his wife, Sherly and children, Sherin and Nevelyn.
